today named Ted Cadwell as a new senior counsel and member of the Legal
Department’s Corporate Governance team. In this role, Cadwell will be
responsible for providing legal support for corporate governance, for
Allianz investment and finance departments, and for strategic
transactions, as well as identifying potential legal and regulatory
issues, which may impact Allianz.
“Cadwell’s history of success with advising companies on a variety of
transactions and corporate governance issues will be a tremendous
benefit to Allianz,” said Bernt von Ohlen, vice president of Corporate
Governance at Allianz Life. “We’re eager to utilize his extensive
experience and knowledge of corporate and securities law.”
Cadwell has nearly 17 years of experience representing and advising
various companies regarding financial transactions and legal matters.
Cadwell came to Allianz from Dorsey & Whitney LLP, where he joined as an
associate in 1993 and became a partner in 2000. At Dorsey & Whitney,
Cadwell focused on securities and general corporate law, advising both
public and private companies on corporate governance, securities,
mergers and acquisitions and general business matters. In addition to
his time at Dorsey & Whitney, Cadwell served as a judicial law clerk on
the Minnesota Supreme Court and was a consultant/financial analyst for
Cadwell earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard
University. He also has an MBA in Finance from the University of
Minnesota Carlson School of Management and a J.D. from the University of
Minnesota Law School. Cadwell is the chair of the Board of Directors for
the North Central Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and also serves on
the Board of Directors for BestPrep and the Harvard Club of Minnesota.
